Her parents are clinical psychotherapist and the owner of an ice cream parlor. After the divorce of her parents, McCormack went to Trinity College Hartford, Connecticut. In 1990, after finishing her studies at Wardlaw-Hartridge School with a BA and a BA, she earned her degree. The actress began her professional career as a child when she appeared in the stage production 'Amahl & The Night Visitors which was a Christmas-themed operetta. She continued to play in theatre and ultimately bagged roles on both the large and small screen. McCormack has been recognized as one of the best known and versatile actors. McCormack is married to producer/director Michael Morris and has three children.
