The audience was incredibly impressed when she played private detective in the crime drama series "Charlie's Angels". In addition to playing roles that were glamorous in the show, she also gained a reputation to play dramatic roles like the role of a battered wife from the TV film 'The Burning Bed. The actress was listed as number 26 on TV Guide's "50 Greatest TV actors of all time'. In the midst of her 59th birthday, she was diagnosed with anal carcinoma. She died three years later.
